Oct. 26; the sketchbook

So, I've been doing some more practice in the arena of pencil sketching, here's a few examples: most are close to completion, but are still being worked on.

 "Stop, motion"

"...and the darkness has not prevailed"
 "Audience of One"
"Pushing up daisies"
"Pre-Ultimatum"

Oct.16, 2010

Fall is that time of year where the angle of the sun creates beautiful contrasts on everything. Light and shadow play their dance with a livelihood not seen quite the same throughout the year.

I just spent another roll of film merely walking across Main St. on Wednesday going to Swan's for some coffee. With the sunset making earlier rounds, it was another right-place, right-time shoot. One of Nashua's best sights is the sunset shining down Factory St.; the building on the left of its mouth (I should know that building's name) has windows where the the light flows like mercury, or like the reflection on a well-polished car. Down behind that is the parking garage with its sharp concrete perspectives, and all the way down in the distance is Clocktower's first, most recognizable spire with its illuminated clock. From Swan's cafe window, all this is framed in by the short brick building on the right, which houses a salon at the corner, and San Fransisco Kitchen. I have a preview of this scene taken by my cell cam on Thursday; not quite nearly as spectacular. I plan to have this shoot plus some other recent work developed soon to aid in the composition of my portfolio.
'Till then, God bless! -Aaron C.
